LJI 10 Week 7: Haiku

A note from alycewilson: This is KFP's entry for LJ Idol this week on the topic "Where I'm From." We have a library book on writing haiku this week -- "Read, Recite and Write Haiku" by JoAnn Early Macken -- so he decided to take a different approach and write a poem about the snow we've been having lately. If you click on the image, you can see a larger version.

Listen to KFP read his haiku!

I kicked the snow and
it looked like fairy dust. It's
not good for snowballs.

The drawing shows a boy in a red coat, blue scarf and mittens, "macaroni-colored" pants and green boots. He has a happy smile on his face as he kicks the snow, which explodes in a burst of multi-colored sparkles. In the background are a bare tree with a swing, an evergreen tree, and a snowman wearing a black top hat. Scattered snowflakes fall from the sky.

As always, the words and pictures are by KFP, and the description is by alycewilson.
